Newport, Rhode Island has a way of making everything feel significant. The mansions, the cliffs, the harbour — it's a place that was built for moments worth remembering. Mike and Gillian understood that completely, and they built their entire day around it.
We started the morning at the mansions for their first look — just the two of them on those grand stone steps, the ocean stretching out behind them. It was one of those quiet, unhurried moments before a wedding day fully begins, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Gillian's halter-neck gown was sharp and modern against the classical architecture, and the images from that hour are some of our favourites from the entire year.
The ceremony and reception were held at The Bohlin, one of Newport's most iconic waterfront venues. The Bohlin sits right at the edge of the harbour and when the light drops in the evening, it turns everything gold. Mike and Gillian danced under open sky with the boats and the water behind them.
If you're planning a wedding in Newport — at The Bohlin, Rosecliff, The Chanler, or anywhere else on the island — we're there regularly and would love to be part of your day.
